It's Done

According to the news the politicians reached a compromise.

The compromise plan agreed to late Sunday would mix a record increase in the government's borrowing cap with the promise of more than $2 trillion in spending cuts.

The legislation would slice more than $2 trillion from federal spending over a decade and permit the nation's $14.3 trillion borrowing cap to rise by up to $2.4 trillion, enough to keep the government afloat through the 2012 elections.

A leading Republican was unhappy about future defence spending cuts. A leading Democrat was unhappy about giving away too much to the Republicans.  A Democrat was not happy about potential welfare cuts. One Republican was happy about potential welfare cuts. A Democrat was unhappy that the very rich will not be taxed more. A Republican was happy that the wealthy will not be taxed more. A Democrat was unhappy that unemployment extensions to those left jobless in the recession will be stopped. A Republican was happy.

All health care workers will be unhappy that payments to Medicare providers could be trimmed, as could subsidies to very unhappy insurance companies.

So, I guess none of the people that came up with all of this "compromise" are happy.

These two are not happy and they will be sure we know it.

"This deal trades people's livelihoods for the votes of a few unappeasable right-wing radicals, and I will not support it," said Rep. Raul Grijalva, D-Ariz.

Tea party favorite and presidential candidate Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., countered that the deal "spends too much and doesn't cut enough. ... Someone has to say no. I will."

Hey, speaking of letting us know, did you know we have a Senator named, Crapo......honest.

How do you put your glasses, mugs, or cups away? I put them away bottom up with the opening down. Wanda puts them away bottom down with the opening up. We have been able to work around this and stay together all these years. Now that's compromise.

Speaking of staying together, I read this in the mornings news: I will condense, since it's about sex, and deception, it was very long.

A newly separated, soon to be divorced man, met a "blind date" lady who was almost perfect. They went out a few times alone and one evening she brought a girlfriend. They had dinner and drinks and dessert and drinks and drinks again. The girls implied they wanted to have a "hot tub" get together with the man, and off they went.

The girls got in their car and he got in his car. On the way to the party he got pulled over and arrested, a DUI.......and the story continues.

The soon to be ex wife hired a lawyer who hired an investigator who hired the girls to set up the guy, The investigator was an ex cop who tipped off the arresting officer.

So, this guy meets a hot woman. They go out a couple of times. She plies him with booze and with the promise of sex. He gets pulled over and busted for driving while intoxicated. His soon to be exes lawyer now has more leverage in the divorce settlement. I wonder how they put their mugs and cups away?

There was an old lady who swallowed a fly.........................

This isn't new information, Wanda and I paid off the house going into June. Yesterday I took some Dover Sole out of the freezer for tonight's dinner. I put the package of fish on the bottom shelf of the fridge. Early this morning I took it out.

I was standing in front of the kitchen sink with a pound and a quarter of semi frozen fish in my hand when it hit me.......the cost, it was $7.55. I didn't look at the price when we purchased the fish. I haven't been looking at price tags since we paid off the house. Avocado's a buck and a half, so what? Blackberries three bucks, shoulder shrug that you can't see, fish eight bucks a pound, who cares? This, is the freedom of no house payment, frozen fish. I never need check a price tag again.

And, speaking of frozen fish, why is it so important to remove it from the wrap before thawing? Mine was still partially frozen when I took it out this morning. I sure hope it's all OK, maybe I should plan on extra steamed broccoli?

A few days ago Younger Daughter Rebecca and I were using the telephones to verbally communicate, not text. We started talking about cats and feeding habits. She told me they occasionally get ants crawling around the cat food and asked if we knew of a good product. I told her about Terro , we've used it for years and it always gets the little buggers to go away.

Saturday morning Wanda was putting out cat nip for our three stoners; Dakota, Casper, and Jill. Steve doesn't use it but he likes to watch them get stupid. He also hangs around for treats when the girls get the munchies. We all were having a great time when Wanda noticed something odd. She took a closer look and no, the cat nip isn't moving, we have ants.

I can't remember the last time we had ants in the house. Fortunately we got them early and had some Terro in the garage. Today, two days later, I don't see any. It's interesting, the other day Rebecca was telling me about her ant problem. There have been other instances like this. People talk about something and days later we experience it.

Has anyone had a recent financial windfall or received unexpected money? Does anyone have money in a purse or pocket? If so, call me, please........let's talk.

I got an e mail from Dell this morning telling me I can get 50% off Dunkin' Donuts.

We had shrimp salad for dinner last night, while discussing dressing:

She said, "I want to use the Champagne Vinaigrette."
He heard, I want to use the shampoo vinaigrette.

While watching A Harry Potter movie:

She said, "Fawlks to tear on it."
He heard, false secure on it.

Wanda told me not to use the Harry Potter reference because very few of you would know what I was writing about.

Which brings up something else. When I am writing, should I be writing, "what i was writing about" because I am writing, or, in spite of that, should I be writing, " what I was talking about" because at the time I was talking?

If you figure that out I'm sure you'll be OK with the Harry Potter reference.
