I don't know about it, honest

It's taken a long time but Thursday is finally here. Wanda is off tomorrow and maybe I'll be able to get a few household things done, or not.

I can not sit around doing nothing when Wanda is cleaning the house. After more than twenty years of hearing, "just because I'm working doesn't mean you have to," I can't sit still. I feel guilty for being lazy so I try to convince her to stop. I am very good at saying "hey, leave it and I'll do it tomorrow," and once in a while that works. But, if I see her drinking a coffee very early I know nothing will stop her.

This is why I always ask for fair warning when Wanda is planning "deep cleaning" days. I need time to decide where I can go. The best thing for both of us is me getting out of the house. Oh, and by the way......that, "leave it and I'll do it tomorrow" thing, most of the time, I don't.

I don't understand the attraction? Jill the Cat loves our bathroom. She spends hours on end sitting on the toilet seat or the toilet tank. She eats a little toilet paper, she drinks out of the bucket in the shower, and she naps on the floor. She also loves to lick me (and I'm sure Wanda too) when we are getting in to and out of the shower. It's like we are her private salt licks, I truly think there is something wrong with this cat.

Oh please, like it's not bad enough. Lawyers for a fellow recently arrested and sent to prison are asking for his immediate release. This guy was a "person of interest" and was arrested in an apartment where a gun was discovered under a pile of dirty laundry. He was not charged for the original crime and was exonerated for that. However, he was in violation of his parole and returned to prison for ten months.

His lawyers filed papers that state there was no evidence to show he knew there was a gun in the apartment. They also claim the gun belonged to someone else who lived there. Oh, and by the way, he is on probation too.

So, a guy who has done time, who is currently on parole from prison, shouldn't be returned because the gun belonged to someone else.

Great names of ballplayers,  Buster Posey and Huston Street. How about Kosuke Fukudome? he was just traded from the Cubs to Cleveland.

It very obvious, bad news makes headlines. It's also obvious scare tactics work. We pay more attention to things that may hurt us. Every day I see articles about retirement. Wanda and I were talking about one the other day. The author was explaining unnecessary spending and how we could save money. They had a couple of things that made sense, like, eating out and getting fancy coffee every day. They also thought we could save money by going longer between haircuts.

Today I read how certain things can derail a well planned retirement, like:

Taking up an expensive hobby...you can find yourself overspending if you decide to get into yacht racing.

One person thinks we should walk around with raggedy hair. Another tells us to be careful of things that may put a dent in the nest egg, like YACHT RACING.

And here I was thinking about jig saw puzzles or bowling in my waning years.
