It's been a long and difficult day. If you read this before midnight your time you can catch up tomorrow. If you read this after midnight your time you can catch up later today. I'll try and give you a snippet In a nutshell, or a pea in a pod, so here goes.
Fred sprung a leak at 4:15AM (this was Thursday morning), I changed his "pouch", we talked for a few minutes then I went to the local Starbucks. When I got back just after 5 I put a movie on put the ear buds in and fell asleep almost immediately. I don't know who tried to call or when, however, I was able to grab the phone at 9:55. The hospital social worker was at the front door.
I ran upstairs, pulled the door open, hair messed up, squinting, unshaven and unkempt, belt unbuckled. I was a lovely sight I'm sure.

The last couple of nights around 2AM Fred got hungry. The first night he didn't want to "bother" me. You all probably know what that rumbling tummy is like in the middle of the night. You want to get back to sleep while it is screaming, "Feed me Seymour," (Little Shop of Horrors). So, he had food dreams and a lousy night. I told him to call me if that happened again, it did. The next two nights I got up and made something to eat. By the third night I was thinking maybe he should sleep next to a fridge when I realized a cooler just might work. I set him up with the cooler, cereal, milk,, cookies, water, and fruit. This was Wensday (yes I know the spelling again) night. He was able to get himself breakfast since I overslept. What's that expression, Necessity is the mother of invention? I didn't invent anything but this was a great idea. He should be able to bring up a thermos of milk and some cookies at night.....yummy.
It's now Friday afternoon so we'll continue. Now that I've left Fred's I don't want to hear you all are leaving me for greener pastures (or other people blogs).

Getting that late and unexpected start yesterday had me frazzled. My first thought was I should stay an extra day, I suppose had I not been able to finish all of my projects I would have done just that. Not that I am bragging, or complaining here, you should know what I was able to accomplish. With just six shots of espresso I was able to; organize the fridge and freezer, do two loads of laundry, vacuum two rooms, gather and organize all Fred's appliance supplies and clean clothes, scrub the bathtub, gas up the car, pack my thongs (this was a typo....things, I meant things) and clean the Dungeon, empty all the trash and garbage cans, re bag and put out curbside for pick up, reconfigure the cordless phones so he will have a phone AND charger in his bedroom, make lunch and dinner, wash and put away the dishes. I'm sure I forgot something, it's OK, you get the idea.
It was good I had so much to do as it didn't give me much time to think. I was so worried about Fred, would he be able to do all this on his own? He was positive he could and I think, looking forward to the challenge. We talked some, reminisced about the past weeks then said our good byes. When Harriet and Paul got to the house I didn't want a teary parting, remember,, men don't cry. Unless they are watching Steel Magnolias or The Dirty Dozen.
It was around 9 when they arrived to get me. We were all hungry so stopped at a local place for dinner, dinner? it was 10PM. This was more like an early breakfast for me, however, the cheeseburger was delicious. We ate, drove back to the house and caught up with a little past news. By the time I hit the sack it was time to get up. Actually, I was falling asleep on my feet so went to bed at 2AM. Four hours later I woke, got dressed, thinking I would head out to this local coffee shop, Biggby's. Harriet was still up, playing on line Texas hold 'Em. She was at a table with five guys from Kurdistan and other places I can't pronounce, or spell, complaining about their lack of playing skills. She was tired, frustrated, not enjoying the game after hours of play. I said, "Can't you just quit?" she replied, "Yes, but I don't want to loose my three dollars."
With that said, my first day of nothing to do has been nice. I plan on calling Fred after dinner tonight. I hope you all, dear readers, will hang around for future news.
