Room for one more?

Oh, what a beautiful morning. It's warming up here. It's now 23 and tomorrow it will be 27. It will be a very pleasant night at 12. Gosh, I love it. Jill the cat has the right idea.

I got up this morning determined to get over to Aunt Lee's, which I did. I got Fred some breakfast, set it up at his desk and left him around nine. He had appointments at 11:30, 12:30, and 3:30 today. He had the garage door opener upstairs, all of the folks knew to call from the driveway and he would let them in through the garage. I made sure the "man" door from the garage to the house was unlocked. I didn't think of any potential problem since I had everything covered.

The roads were in decent shape with just a couple of patchy spots. The drive took about 45 minutes. It was very nice seeing Aunt Lee again. We spent a couple of hours together, I loaded up a bunch of food and took off for "home."

I got back to the house just as his 12:30, Gladys was leaving. My plan (the garage thingy) didn't work the very first time it was tried. Nancy, the Occupational Therapist tried the door knob, which was locked, called Fred and told him she "couldn't get in." Lucky for everyone his neighbor was home, had a door key, and came over and let her in. What she didn't know was that door knob has been "locked" ever since I have been at the house. While the knob IS locked, the latch does not engage in the door jamb. The dead bolt above it IS unlocked and all she had to do was push the door and it would open. I guess that concept was too difficult? But, it all worked out anyway. I guess I was the only one upset with all this. I considered my brilliant plan to get these folks in the house a failure, at least today. Tomorrow I shall leave a big sign on the door, one that will read PUSH IT! or perhaps, SHOVE IT!

So, I got back, loaded the freezer, made Fred lunch, and took off for the grocery store. A couple of things of note. I was asked to pick up four or five cans of "gravy." I did but I will use the term loosely. What I bought looks like a jar full of goop. I got, chicken goop, beef goop, turkey goop, and strained mushroom goop. I also picked up ten small plastic freezer things so we can divided and freeze the goop. When we finish this tonight he will be able to zap all sorts of goop. I know he will be very happy about that.
Fred suggested we grill (broil) something for dinner tonight. He gave me the choice, lamb chops or a couple different cuts of meat. I decided on a small, 3/4 pound rib eye that we'll split. I am not going to put any goop on my part. Maybe the steak, a baked potato, peas, applesauce and a small salad. Dessert will be Milano Cookies or Dove Bars.
After dinner I plan on giving "On Demand" and cable box lessons.

I'll next be posting from Harriet and Paul's palatial estate on Ox Bow lake. See you all then.
