Look Out Below

A federal judge in Southern California on Tuesday dismissed a lawsuit that John Wayne Enterprises filed against Duke University in North Carolina.

The two have squabbled since 2005 over use of the name. The university objected last year when Wayne's heirs tried to register the name "Duke" to market bourbon and other alcoholic beverages.

Duke University said that could cause confusion and diminish its own trademark.

"The vast majority of the kids have no idea who Wayne or "The Duke" is but students enjoy a large discount on our beer and spirits. We don't need, or want, any confusion or unnecessary competition," said school President Peter Russell.

Wayne Enterprises sued, asking the judge to rule on the matter. But U.S. Judge David Carter in Orange County dismissed the suit, saying his court doesn't have jurisdiction.

Messages seeking comment from Wayne Enterprises weren't immediately returned.

There has also been no comment from the estates of Bernice Williams, Eugene Dixon or Earl Williams.

The Duke of Earl lives on.

The Maruyama Zoo in Japan said zookeepers discovered repeated attempts to breed their two spotted hyenas were doomed from the start.

Kamutori was labeled as a male and Kami a female when they arrived at the Maruyama Zoo and zookeepers were initially encouraged by the pair's behavior, often cuddling and frolicking together. However, relations between the two animals became frosty in 2012 and they eventually had be separated in 2014 due to constant fighting.

Officials said they performed some tests on the hyenas after they were separated and it was determined that both animals are actually male.

Experts said the sex of hyenas can be difficult to determine because females can grow "pseudo-penises," clitorises that are nearly the same size as a male penis, which should open up an entirely new conversation around Freud's theory of penis envy.

British officials said they voided the divorces of 179 Italian couples after investigators found the people were all using the same fake address.

An investigation of a firm suspected of charging more than $5,000 to help couples circumvent Italian law requiring a three-year separation prior to divorce found 179 couples who used the service all had the same address in Maidenhead, England, as a proof of residency before getting divorced through British courts.

Investigators found the address was not actually a home at all, but rather a lone mailbox.

"It is not possible for 179 applicants or respondents to reside at this address," said Officer Roger Fortescue.

James Munby, president of the Family Division of Britain's High Court, added: "Indeed, given the dimensions of the mail box it is clear that not even a single individual, however small, could possibly reside in it."

Doctors in Bishkek....I had no idea where or what Bishkek is.

Bishkek, formerly Pishpek and Frunze, is the capital and the largest city of the Kyrgyz Republic. Bishkek is also the administrative centre of Chuy Province which surrounds the city, even though the city itself is not part of the province but rather a province-level unit of Kyrgyzstan.......Wikipedia.

Doctors in Bishkek removed a nine-pound wad of undigested gummy bears from the stomach of an 18-year-old girl after she could no longer eat or drink.

The ball developed over fourteen years.

She is recovering and now swears off the gelatinous treats.

"Now that they have all those bite sized bits I'm switching to candy bars," she said.

China's Communist Party said 10,000 pigeons due to be released for National Day celebrations underwent an "anal security check."

The pigeons' rectums were being checked for unspecified security risks ahead of being released on the 65th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

"It is possible for them to carry things such as explosives," said a security agent. We will put them all through the screen just like at the airport."

The German city of Essen announced the first day of the "Pick Up" project, which is recruiting alcoholics and drug addicts to clean city streets.

The city said the project will begin with six people sweeping streets and picking up garbage. The volunteers will receive payments at the end of their shifts comprised of their owed cash at $1.58 per hour, three bottles of beer, tobacco for smokers and a hot meal.

"The project participants are people who need to have a daily structure," said City Manager Oliver Buglerman. "We can't supply the actual drugs, hence the money. Our next step is to secure housing. Once that is done we anticipate a very willing work force."

An 18-year-old man alleges the Florida woman who claims to have three breasts kept him as a sex slave and tried to carve her name into his skin.

Micheal Squier said he met Jasmine Tridevil, real name Alisha Hessler, 21, on Facebook and visited her home, where she forced him to sleep in a dog cage.

"She is completely psychotic. She turned me into a slave, beat me and humiliated me. I am physically scarred for life and live with the shame of what she did to me."

Tridevil said she kept Squier as a slave, but said she never beat him or had sex with him.

"Yes, he stayed in my cage and I kept him as a slave," she said. "He stayed at my house for over two weeks. He had to do what I told him, and he liked it."

Squier says the third breast is definitely a falsie. "I was not sure if it was fake at first but after a while it was just so obvious. She used some sort of glue to stick it between her two other breasts."

How long before we read about the lawsuit?

I'm the first to bemoan Kardashian news and here I'm perpetuating the three breasted woman.

........god, I love this.
