Have a Frappe Day.

.............and there are so many interesting things to discuss today.

It is National Frappe Day which in and of itself adds more difficulty to my life.

First there is wide spread discord about the original and true meaning of the concoction. Second I would like to use the acute accent (or the ' over the e in frappe) but I can't follow instructions.

If you want to change the defaults and use other keystrokes to access accent marks, follow these instructions. You will only need to do this once and the computer you're working on will remember the keystrokes you've set up. However, if you move to a different machine, you'll probably have to go through this set-up process again.

1.  Go to the "Insert" menu and choose "Symbol"
2.  Get "Normal text" and then highlight the character you want
3.  Click on "Shortcut Key"
4.  Type in the keystrokes you want for that character
(such as "alt + e" for "é")
5.  Repeat this process for each special character you need

So let's forget about the fancy ' for now and concentrate on the subject at hand: The Frappe.

1. Frappe coffee, an iced coffee beverage made from instant coffee originally from Greece
2. A milkshake in New England
3. A drink similar to the trade-marked Frappuccino
4. A frozen fruit-flavored dessert made with shaved ice, similar to sherbet
5. An Italian name for angel wings, a sweet, crisp pastry made with deep-fried dough.

The Italian pastry is also known as bugie, canci, chiacchiere, crostol, galani and sfrappole so it seems not only is the drink blended in confusion the Italian's think its food.

My drink of choice: A Caramel Frappuccino® Light. Roast coffee blended with caramel syrup, nonfat milk, and ice, topped with a swirl of caramel sauce.

It's only 29 grams of sugar and 140 calories.
The Atlanta company behind the Scroguard latex pelvis cover said the product is meant to "reduce skin-to-skin contact" in areas not covered by condoms.

The Scroguard, which resembles latex underwear covering everything in the pelvic region except for the area where a typical condom would be used, is meant to be used in tandem with condoms to help prevent the spread of various STD's.

The product, which starts at $20, is being sold through the company's website.

Why not use the Hazmat suits no longer needed for Ebola?
Firefighters said they freed a 13-year-old boy who became locked in a large postal box during a game of hide-and-seek.

Emergency responders needed to be summoned when the box's door locked behind the boy, trapping him inside.

Firefighters, who used a hydraulic spreader and a crowbar to get into the box, said the boy was "amazingly brave" and greeted them with a smile once they got the box open.

The young man was able to survive the ordeal by reading Playboy, Sports Illustrated and People.

I'm taking some time off; Wanda and I are going on vacation.

I know this is redundant information but for any of you thieves and robbers out there in cyberspace, don't bother with the house. Someone will be staying here and we have a monitored home security system and Steve the ferocious watch cat.

You can try to steal our identities but I doubt you'll be happy with what you get.

We're celebrating our 25th anniversary on Star Princess sailing out of San Francisco.

I'll tell you all about it when we get back.

I'll resume the blog on October 20th.
