Oakland, California. Police have been asked to recycle crime scene tape. "It's not a budget thing, said police spokesperson Joanna Watson; it's wasteful, plain and simple. There's no reason officers can't roll up the tape and reuse it."
Steel claims Alex’s presence would be especially strong when she wore a skirt that he really liked. "It was a silky, sporty mid knee black skirt with a short slit up on side. He liked that with a white blouse."
When Alex’s ghost followed her to her new car, Steel called in paranormal investigator Paul Dale John.
After using electronic equipment to test the vehicle, John determined Alex is “probably not attached to his car, but he’s attached to Diane.”
Alex might not stay attached for too long, as Steel and John recently got married. The bride wore a simple white dress.
And the dead guy was the best man.
A shirtless man asked Los Angeles KTLA anchor Courtney Friel out on a date while she was reporting live from the scene of a massive fire near Rancho Cucamonga.
I don't care about the story I just wanted to write Rancho Cucamonga. Go ahead; say it, Rancho Cucamonga. It makes you feel better right. Damn, its fun to say, do it again, Rancho Cucamonga. For those of you out of the area it's pronounced Ran-cho Cu-ca-mon-ga.
If at first you don't succeed; try, try again, or perseverance has its rewards.
In one day a West Virginia man managing to get arrested three separate times on three different charges.
Gregory Allen Hill was arrested the first time while police were responding to a call about someone -- who turned out to be him -- using a fake prescription for Xanax at a Rite Aid pharmacy. While police were at the pharmacy investigating Hill walked in with another fake prescription.
After being arrested for forging a prescription, Hill posted bond and was released.
A few hours later, police went to Hill's home for a domestic dispute and arrested him for domestic battery after his wife got a protective order.
Hill posted bond, returned to the home and was arrested again for violating the protective order.
After his third arrest in seven hours, Hill was arraigned and immediately sentenced to a mandatory 10 days in jail.
Did KFC know this when it started selling boneless chicken?
Researchers at Cornell University conducted a study about biting versus chewing habits in children and found that kids who eat chicken on the bone are more likely to disobey adults and be aggressive.
The study found that children were “twice as likely to disobey adults and twice as aggressive toward other kids” when eating food they had to hold and bite.
Researches found that children were more docile when eating cut-up pieces of food, results which would seem to indicate that there is a connection between having to use teeth to eat and aggressive behavior.
Not everyone agrees with the study’s findings.
“I think people have been eating chicken wings, chicken drumsticks for a millennia and I don’t think it’s made them any more aggressive than they otherwise would have been,” said clinical psychologist Dr. Brian Russell.
The children that the researchers studied were between the ages of 6 and 10.
The university will next study the behavior characteristics between children that use forks and chopsticks. "We expect to see a higher level of frustration in the chop stick users," said Dr. Horatio Findbender, Ph.D.
"In addition to frustration we will also do a physiological study to answer the question, is there a direct correlation between lung capacity and drinking through a straw."
"As long as we continue testing our funding continues as well."
And as long as there are newsworthy and thought provoking things to write about....I'll try to continue too.
Last year (2013) the City of Oakland purchased 80 rolls of the black and yellow tape at $10.15 a roll, spending just $812.
By comparison, San Francisco purchased 348 rolls at $8.50 a roll and spent $3,458.
Morale is running low among Oakland cops. "It's hard enough to deal with all this crime every day but to clean-up after ourselves is ridiculous," said an officer who wished to remain anonymous.
Going green or budget constraints the solution is lower crime rates. Doubtful that will happen the city is considering charging law breakers for tape by the foot. "If that's a success we may begin charging for our time as well," added Watson. "While many criminals won't have funds, some of them might. Any break to honest tax payers would be welcome."
And once they are incarcerated we should charge them even more.
This is what can happen when a person in prison has too much time on his hands.
A California inmate, Richard Dupree filed a lawsuit against Beyonce, Jay Z, Kanye West and others seeking $2.4 billion because of allegedly stolen song lyrics.
According to Dupree, the pop stars conspired with agencies like the CIA, FBI and Homeland Security to steal lyrics he wrote while he was behind bars. He claims the stars and government agencies stole 3,000 songs from him.
In the suit, Dupree alleges that the defendants “robbed [him] for hundreds of millions, even billions, in the satellite organization.”
It appears that Dupree may have submitted his original paperwork incorrectly based on an order that Judge Carolyn Delaney issued.
“Plaintiff shall submit, within thirty days from the date of this order, a completed application to proceed in forma pauperis. Plaintiff's failure to comply with this order will result in a recommendation that this action be dismissed without prejudice.
No wonder lawyers generate so much paperwork.
Forma pauperis is not an ancient Egyptian paper; it's Latin for like a pauper. It's a motion that shows the party's inability to pay or give security for fees and costs.
This man had over 3,000 songs stolen from him. He has been robbed of hundreds of millions it's obvious he's broke.
Hey...I'm just your average everyday horny ghost.
A Sacramento woman, who was dating a man that died of a drug overdose in 2005, claims that his ghost began haunting her 2002 GMC pickup just days after his death.
Diane Steel says she had so many supernatural encounters with the deceased 22-year-old, that she sold the car.
“I could feel touching on my hair and on my shoulders, on my thighs, just everywhere. My concentration would be lost a lot of the times, but I would ask him to wait until I stopped driving and it would stop.”
