Bathroom Day 2 and Other News

I'm shocked...

The number of people that have reached out to us is amazing. Wanda and I have our pick of several showers in the area. Cousins offered their place but I think San Diego is a bit too far. Last night we went over to Jenn and Eric's again. The have a beautiful home, a beautiful shower and it's nice visiting with them. Not sure what tonight will bring.

I'm also surprised at the number of comments we've had on the construction. Half the people we know have been through a bathroom remodel (or is it renovation?); many of the other half want to.

Yesterday I decided we should redo the kitchen, all the flooring, replace the fencing, sell this place and move. After plugging in what I wanted to spend I found two condos, a two bedroom one bath home in the middle of nowhere and fourteen empty lots. I have to admit, the condos were very, very nice. They were both remodeled (renovated?) and looked sparkling new.

I just don't think we can live in an 850 square foot one bed one bath condo without eventually doing serious bodily harm to each other.

I may contact the empty lot owners. I think we would have enough money left for a tent or tepee.

While I am focused on the work here there are other things happening in the world.

Last night was The State of the Union speech: I don't care.

I found an article on "zombie" bees: I'll get back to you on that.

How about this: 11 Data Breaches that ROCKED Consumers. It's a Fucking SLIDE SHOW. This information just may be something you're interested in and I haven't got the patience to wait until each page loads, sorry. The first two were Target and Neiman Marcus. You probably know about Target and who do I know that shops at Neiman Marcus?

What kind of a name is Neiman?

News from New York: Super Bowl Media Day.

Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch left a required interview after only six and a half minutes. Not wanting to pay a fine he soon returned. He let his disdain for the process known by saying, "I ain't never seen no talk that won me nothing." Maybe the NFL should let him keep his mouth shut.

Shawn (the contractor) and by the way, we REALLY like this guy and his crew. I'll link up some information of his when we're almost done. Yesterday he said he really wanted to get the tub in today so Wanda could at least take a bath. I said, "You started yesterday I know you're a contractor not a magician." It's terrific to be working with someone who truly cares about our situation.

Its 8 o'clock and Doug (one of the workers) just got here and went directly into the bathroom. I heard him and thought he was talking to me, he wasn't. All the guys have ear pieces. "Do you want me to take a picture of it next to a tape measure?" He asks. "OK, I'll text it over to you." Now you need to learn your craft and communication technology as well.

We were going to use the garage to store the large items but Sparky was hiding in there and I didn't want to open the door. Steve and Sparky are pissed off. I caught myself moving things around so they could get to the window and watch the birdies this morning. We open our home to these cats and they dictate policy.

We have an empty garage, park both cars in the drive, and now our living room looks like Home Depot.

The first picture is the living room
The second is the wall that once was a door
The third is the new water regulator
The fourth I just wanted to post

Hey, I just found this: Renovation and remodeling are similar but distinctive approaches to altering the current state of a structure or property. A main difference between the two is that renovating involves restoring something to its former state or improving upon it, while remodeling is completely alternating the structural or aesthetic nature of a property or structure.

I guess we're renovating!
