We set the thermostat at 61 degrees before we go to bed. We don't care for electric blankets. We have a heated mattress pad. I think it's time to replace as it's not heating on one side. Last night I suggested we get a new one this week end. Wanda told me our expenditures this month were high. She thought we should wait until next month.
Our lady cat, Casper, is as best we can figure, eighteen or nineteen. She sleeps next to Steve when possible. When I go to bed I wrap a small throw around her, she likes that. I just read about warming pads and beds for kitties. Do I need to tell you who will get warm first?
If you want to start planning for Black Friday. Target may open stores at 9 PM Thanksgiving. If that's true Wal-Mart will probably do the same, or may open at 8 PM. Eventually, if things continue in this direction, the stores will never close. We will have the ability to shop and spend money 24/7. Oh wait, we can already do this, it's called the Internet.
Wanda and I went out at 5 AM one Black Friday. We will never do it again.
Last week I wrote about the bad spouse and I cancelling our votes out. I suppose it could have been worse.
An Arizona woman, in despair at the re-election of President Obama, ran down her husband with the family car because he failed to vote in the election. Police said she was arrested after running over her husband following a wild chase that left him pinned underneath the vehicle.
I wonder what she does if he forgets to take out the garbage?
It's been a very frustrating morning.
In December of 2010 Older Daughter Jennifer suggested I write this blog. She set it up for me. The first entries were about my time in Michigan helping my older brother with a health issue. By the time that was over and 2011 was beginning, I moved on to other topics.
Sometimes the blog would be a trip to the supermarket. Other days I wrote about things in the news. Some days I would write about a thought that struck me. I learned to keep a notebook and pen handy. When I was a working nurse there was an adage, if it's not written down, it wasn't done. Now it was, if it isn't written down, I'm sure to forget it. Often Wanda would suggest a topic or idea for the blog. She is much more imaginative than I am, always has been. She has a wicked sense of humor. I have the ability to put her thoughts into words, we make a great team.
So, the blog evolved. Over a couple of months I fell into a nice pattern, writing when Wanda was at work. Four days a week I would sit down in the morning, write the blog, and try to post around noon. The blog entry today will be number 450. The blog entry today is different.
Today is the first time I have sat and stared at the screen for hours on end. Today is the first time I couldn't find much of a voice. Today is the first time that I had writers block. For almost three hours I read and reread news stories. Nothing hit me, nothing clicked. That is until ten minutes ago.
See, I have a doctors appointment tomorrow. About ten weeks ago my doc went out on maternity leave. She was due back a few weeks ago. This is a standing monthly appointment. The last two months I have seen a colleague of hers. In October my insurance adjuster said, "This is the last time I am going to authorize this medication. You will need to see your primary doctor next time." I had an appointment last Thursday but my doc was still out, I reset it for tomorrow. I have been preoccupied thinking about what I'll need to do if my doc is still out.
I could have called the office and asked, easy enough. Have you ever not done something because you didn't want bad news? I finally called, actually I sent an e mail. My doctor is back, I'll see her tomorrow at noon.
And once I get everything back on track I plan on doing something about this insurance adjuster. What exactly I don't yet know. But, I think I have a way with words. After all, 450 blog entries sure says something. I'll get her supervisor and maybe send a letter, we'll see. After all, my doctor was on maternity leave. It wasn't my doing. What could I do to get her back to the office sooner, offer to breast feed the baby?
Many thanks to you all.
