Turn The Page...A New Chapter Begins.....

You would notice if I repeat myself on a particular blog entry. Say the third and the seventh paragraph was about my fear of balloon animals. You would notice that, right? But if some time passed between the same topics you probably wouldn't remember. So this may, or may not be, old news.

Wanda and I have been together since 1987. We both had been married prior to meeting, once for her and twice for me. I got married because I wanted to have sex. I don't know what her excuse (sorry, reason) was. The first time I married I was eighteen and couldn't find my ass with both hands. The second time I was twenty seven or eight, and could, barely.

Many people go through life and never find the perfect fit. I think we did. Sure, we have our little snit fits and bicker from time to time. But, over all we have many, many, many more great days.

We both had a couple of practice runs and they made what we have much more special. And when all is said and done, Wanda and I know how lucky we are to have each other. There's little doubt, no one would put up with either of us very long. Like the afternoon we walked around a shopping mall with our elbows pressed hard against our sides, our arms positioned in front of us like the T-Rex dinosaur. This is the way we went shopping and we called it 'no elbows.' We had so much fun. I mean really, how many adults would do something like this?

We both had some pretty rough patches with the respective bad spouse's. I'll not mention specifics. As neither spend much (if any) time on line they couldn't respond or defend themselves. For instance, I shouldn't say he was an ego maniacal man that thrived when confronting Wanda verbally. Or mine was a manipulative compulsive fibber. I won't go into more of their collective personality disorders because they both did something really good. They both, along with each of us, made a daughter.

Wanda and I consider the girls, ours.

About ninety minutes ago Younger Daughter Rebecca and Roxanne the Cat landed in Portland, Oregon to begin the next phase of life. Husband Tim is going to work for Intel and Rebecca will be sure to find something with her teaching credentials and background. Over the last eight years or so 'the kids' have been living, and working, and going to school in the Los Angeles area. I'm so glad we were able to visit them last January. Seeing where they lived makes us that much happier they left.

We are looking forward to our first trip to see them in Oregon. Once they get settled and welcome company. I know our visit will be the first of many. Portland houses the largest independent book store in the world, Powells Books. It will take us a couple trips just to go through the store. We have spent a little time in Portland, it's a wonderful area.

I'm speaking for Wanda and to our son in law and daughter. You've both worked hard to achieve your educational goals. You have lived responsibly, putting your obligations first. Now you can begin to enjoy the fruits of your labor. We know you will be fine and wish you nothing but the best.

I'm unable to leave things like this. I wouldn't deserve the title of dad if I didn't get this last word in, a word with some advise. Oregonians have been getting a little miffed with all the people moving there from California. If anyone asks, tell them you're from North Dakota. After all, who wouldn't want to move from there!

Damn......you all know of Silvia the Cat who lives across the street? She started hanging around here before her house burned down. You all know about the house that burned down across the street? If you are not familiar with the house or the cat you can see them both on my Face book timeline. I'm not sure if you need to be a Face book friend of mine, or not. Hey, if you are not a friend of mine why are you bothering to read this? You must have better things to do with your time. I think I just insulted the friends who do read the blog.

We talked to the the man who lived in the house across the street that burned down but not until after it did. He was displaying some concern over Silvia and was trying to pick her up. At the time he was standing in front of our house. Silvia bolted from him, ran up to the front screen door, and I let her in. "We have been feeding and giving her shelter," I said. The man was OK with that. Now we have an indoor/outdoor foster cat. I like her, Wanda likes her, Steve likes her. I just wish she would find a better way to signal me when she wants to go outside.

I'm getting real tired of the cat jumping on this table and walking across the keyboard. She does this a few times always managing to get her rear end pointed at my face. If I don't get up she'll start rubbing the side of her mouth on the corners of the lap top screen. If I'm still not up she somehow manages to tip the computer over backwards. By the time I'm looking at the bottom of the lap top I'm up and have the front door open.

I like Silvia and think she's a good cat. I also think she is good company for Steve. However, I hope she remembers she is from that house across the street. If and when it's rebuilt I may be able to get through an entire blog entry without getting up every five minutes.

The other day we were talking about using coupons at the grocery store.

She said, "If you follow this link you can get digital coupons."
He heard, If you follow this link you can get digital croutons. (very good on digital salads)
