A jury has awarded a Georgia woman $3 million over her husband's heart attack, finding that his doctor should have warned the Atlanta cop against strenuous activity like the three-way sex he was having at the time he died.
The 31-year-old Atlanta police officer, collapsed and died while he and a male friend were having sex with a woman who was not his wife.
The jury found that the doctor and the Cardiovascular Group were 60% to blame for his death from atheroschlerotic coronary artery disease, agreeing with the plaintiff that the doctor did not properly diagnose and treat him for high blood pressure, chest pains, shortness of breath and irregular heartbeat. They also charged that he did not warn his patient to avoid strenuous physical activity until more tests could be done.
The jury agreed that the treating doctor was negligent but the patient was 40% responsible for his own death. That shared responsibility reduced the award to his widow from $5 million to $3 million.
.....I'm trying to understand how the 60-40% split was determined. He was with another man and one woman. If they had an equal share that would be 50%. But, there were three people so that's 33%. Whatever, this is a good example of UNsafe sex.
Most of the airlines have very strict baggage rules. I didn't know apartment buildings did too.
The 50-year-old 96 pound woman was banned from the building last year for breaking a fire extinguisher case during an argument.
Police were notified when a caller reported a man had kidnapped a woman, placed her in a suitcase and taken her into the building. Officers searched his apartment and found the woman hiding in a closet.
When Tabasco isn't enough.
A Massachusetts man has been charged with assault for allegedly hitting his girlfriend in the face with a pair of designer jeans he had doused in wasabi sauce.
He was charged with domestic assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon for allegedly attacking his girlfriend because she had received a text message from another man as they drove home from a bar.
Police say the 22-year-old man doused the woman's $200 jeans in the pungent Japanese sauce and threw them outside.
When she went to his home to recover the jeans, he allegedly struck her in the face with them, getting sauce in her eyes, he then poured more sauce in her car......it has been reported the woman is trying to find a sushi drive-thru in the area.
Remember the Rolling Stones song, "You Can't Always Get What You Want?"
A man who'd just been released from jail in northern North Carolina was arrested and charged with trespassing for refusing to leave the jail after authorities wouldn't give him a ride to a motel.
He was released from the county jail after being behind bars for sixty days. The sheriff's office says he asked them to drive him to a local motel and they refused. Deputies charged him with second-degree trespassing when he had refused to leave the jail more than six hours after his release.
He's being held on $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court the first week in August.
Why not stay? "I'm getting a bed and three meals a day. I can read, listen to music, and watch television. With the Olympics in a few days I'm going to try and stay for at least two weeks." He then said, "The only bad part is sharing a toilet with three other guys but I'm getting used to that."
