Money Makes The World Go Around....

In the movie "Forget Paris" with Billy Crystal and Debra Winger a group of people are sitting around a restaurant table telling a story. "When I finish this you are going to look me in the face and call me a liar," said one of the characters. Then he told everyone about a mouse problem and pigeon earrings. It's a cute movie. If you've seen it you know of what I speak.

When I finish the blog entry today you may look at the screen and call me a liar. I'm not. No one could make this stuff up.

Do you have money trouble? Are you behind in the rent or late with the car payment? Did you blow your last paycheck on lotto tickets? Maybe you are up to your neck in credit card debt? Do you need a quick loan?

If you answered yes to any of these. All you need is a little time and we will get you on your way to financial security. Why have more than one institution asking for your hard earned dollar? We want to help, we're here for you. So, call. or write, fill out the on line form and you will sleep better tonight. Contact us, we're Western Sky Financial.

I saw a TV ad the other day and was astonished. Wanda said it would make a good blog entry, so here it is.

Wanda and I both dislike credit card debt. We don't have any and haven't for years. If we can not pay for it we don't buy it. It's a real nice way to live. I know people do get into money trouble. It would be a real shame to need Western Sky.

The company is owned by an individual of an Indian Tribe. Again, an individual, one person only. This guy must be trying to get restitution for every Indian the government screwed out of land way back when. The business operates inside the boundaries of the reservation. It is a sovereign nation located within the United States of America.

If you want to borrow a little money, say $850.00, this friendly loan company charges $350.00 for loan origination fees. So, you get $500.00. The repayment contract is 12 monthly payments of $150.72 for a total of $1808.64. You would end up paying a total of $2,158.64 for $500 bucks. The interest rate is 342.86%.

The more you borrow the lower the fees. A $10,000.00 loan fee is only $75.00, that's much better. So, you net $9,925.00. Now you have an obligation of $743.49 each and every month for SEVEN YEARS. Eighty four months you'll shell out this dough until finally you have paid a total of $62,453.16, plus the original $75 buck loan fee.

Are you thinking about calling me a liar?

Would anyone in their right mind borrow from here? Would this place lend money to someone who wasn't in their right mind? I can't imagine anyone taking out a large loan. Do people borrow small amounts? Is that how the company makes money? The web site states the interest charges are less than most "payday lenders." That's frightening.

So, one person is using the unchecked "laws" Indian Tribes have (or don't have) to operate this loan business. I guess it's not much different than the casinos on sovereign land. But, at least with the casinos you get to have a little fun before you're sucked dry.

A favorite movie of mine and one I remember seeing with my mother is "Operation Petticoat" with Cary Grant and Tony Curtis. In it, Curtis is a smooth talking guy who just wants to get out of the Navy alive. He is talking to his commander (Grant) the first morning out to sea in the submarine.

"People always said money isn't everything, and I believed it. Up until the time I realized the people saying it were the people with all the money. Ever see a three thousand dollar watch?" He is 'engaged' to a very rich young lady, railroad stock. He ends up with a nurse, Barbara. And, he makes the Navy his career.

Nothing wrong with that!
