I just took the trash bins out. They're lined up on the curb like good little soldiers.
Wanda and I did some plant shopping this morning. She bought a beautiful climbing rose bush? tree? shrub? I will stay far away and have nothing to do with it. We have garden gnomes living in our backyard. I don't know what I did to piss them off, but they hate me. They like Wanda so she does all the planting. I do the thinning, pruning, and killing. I also spray for various diseases.
We took a leaf sample to the nursery. Our photenia bushes have, Downey Mildew, Powdery Mildew, Black Spot, Early or Late Blight, or any of a hundred different things. I bought Liquid Copper Fungicide which claims to be "ready to use" for organic gardening. In the past nothing much has worked very well. Today I won't read the directions and just pour it on. It sure couldn't hurt, I kill everything else.
I am happy and somewhat proud to report that our garage is almost completely devoid of crap. A large chair and a futon will be picked up tomorrow. A few of our cats discovered the joy of furniture destruction years ago. We found it necessary to live with wooden framed furniture. It wasn't very pretty and was somewhat uncomfortable, but it was durable. The things we do for our animals, only another pet lover would understand.
Yesterday Daughter Rebecca wrote their Roxanne Screwy Kat chewed through another cord. They keep replacing and she keeps eating them. Roxanne knows to pass on anything dangerous or she would have fried a long time ago. Sooner or later Rebecca, Tim, and Roxanne will live in a wireless and cordless home. That, or everything will be hanging from the ceiling.
I have tired to keep Casper Kat as comfortable as possible in her waning years. Often, she plops on my lap, makes herself comfortable and goes to sleep. Left alone she would stay in the same position all day. I try to anticipate my needs prior to her nap time. I'll get a snack, some water, the phone, more snacks but eventually I need to get up. I'll sit there ten minutes beyond pee time because I don't want to disturb her.
When they snuggle up next to us in bed we do the same thing. Can't breathe because cat is on chest, it's fine. Arm or leg falling asleep because cat is laying on it, that's OK. It doesn't matter that they get up, they move, they leave us alone whenever the need strikes them.
We still put them first.
Life, it would be so easy if we could do with people what we do with animals.
