The Farmers Market.......

A few months ago my friend Harriet sent me a link to a U Tube. Later, we were talking about it when she said, "I hope it goes viral." I had no idea what that meant. Going viral, she explained, "is getting a ton of hits." I asked again, "What's that mean?" Eventually I came to understand, going viral means a lot of people have looked at, or listened to whatever it is.

I thought going viral was something you wouldn't want. I guess I was wrong.

Today our local Farmers Market reopened for the season. Wanda and I were there with reusable bags in hand at nine o'clock this morning. Fresh lettuce, apples, oranges, broccoli and strawberries. A wonderful loaf of sourdough bread and a few other goodies are now on the counter or in the fridge.

When my cousin Neil and I were kids I would tease him, often. "Your name isn't really a name," I would tell him, "It's a command." Neil before the King. Yes, I know it's spelled kneel but it sounds the same. The name Bob, that's not a name, it's noise. Go ahead and say it real loud, BOB.....see. It's sort of like DUCK, don't you think? Bob is also the same backwards and forward. You can have lots of fun with names, it's true.

Want to read some names so called celebrity couples have named their kids? Pilot Inspektor, Jermajesty, Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lilly who I just read had a mother who overdosed and a father that killed himself. One more since this was meant to be silly not tragic, Zoltan and Moxie Crime Fighter. These last two are kids of Penn Jilette.

You can't see me shaking my head in wonderment, but I am. I'm also shaking it in pity.

We did our civic duty. Wanda and I just got back from our downtown area where we saw our first bike race. After seeing those bike seats I understand why they stand up and ride. Much better to use the balls of the feet than the other ones. There are several races scheduled from 2 to 8PM. These guys really fly, I had no idea it was that fast and we saw the over forty-five group. The main event tonight features professionals and should be fun.

Yesterday Aunt Lee and seventy other people ninety five and older were honored at a lunch sponsored by the Jewish Community in the Detroit Area. Lee told me the oldest person was one hundred and six. Seventy one people ninety five and older. I bet it looked like Gods little waiting room, tasteless I know but I couldn't resist.

Four friends are currently sailing on the Coral Princess. The cruise originated in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and will go through the Panama Canal. They will end the cruise in San Francisco after a total of fifteen days at sea. When they left two days ago I was looking for them on this web cam but the ship was late leaving port. In addition to the web cam you can check on the daily port schedule.

Today between 4 and 5PM four cruise ships left Ft. Lauderdale with approximately thirteen thousand passengers. I wonder how many of them were over ninety five?
