An apple a day.

I take back every nasty, terrible thing I have ever said about this computer. To the very depth and core of my soul or sole (take your pick), I am sorry. I am also shocked. Yesterday I had a word flow problem. If this blog was a toilet a plunger would not have helped. I was a dry waterfall, an empty vessel. I was working very hard, trying to write something interesting. Just as I thought I was on the right track the site went down. I didn't notice the auto save feature not working.

This morning when I was able to check my save file it was blank. I thought all of yesterdays work was lost. While moaning about starting over again I remembered before shutting down yesterday I did a highlight and save. Everything was still in my little mouse, or wherever it goes. I opened a new blog window, did a paste command and just like magic everything appeared.

I was so happy, all that time, and all that work was not wasted. I began to proof it and realized it was terrible. Again, nothing flowed, nothing made sense, nothing was worth keeping. All that work I did to retrieve all that work I did, what a waste of time.

I just took a quick look at my Comcastian Home Page. There is a picture of Donald Trump and a story. The article has a disclaimer that the opinions expressed are the authors, not Comcast. Apparently no one wants to admit it's theirs since it's credited to "Comcast News."

The title is, "Donald Trump Explains His Hair." It's not very long, some information is taken from an older interview he did with a magazine. Trump, in great detail, describes how he gets that look on his head.

Thirty two comments follow the Trump story. Many express the same opinion, the article is a waste of time. Several people go so far as to chastise Comcast for posting it. "Don't you have anything better to write about?" asked a few.

Do you think it's a waste of time to take the time to comment on an article you think is a waste of time? And, am I wasting my time writing about people who wasted their time writing comments about an article they thought was a waste of time? Are you wasting your time reading what I write about people wasting their time writing comments about an article they thought was a waste of time? I don't think so, except for the article and the people who wrote the comments, that was a waste of time.

The number one fear of many people is public speaking. Jury duty is a good example. Sooner or later you are going to give some information to the judge (certainly if you want out) or the lawyers. While waiting your turn you may experience sweaty palms and a thumping heart. You may even get dizzy and light headed. Just about now you would rather face clowns, mimes, even spiders. I don't know why so many find this frightening. It's a heck of a lot easier than writing.

A raised eyebrow or a pronounced eye roll can emphasise or alter meaning. Many of the old time comedians used a cigar as a prop for timing. This is Groucho Marx hosting You Bet Your Life . He sings a short song then starts his "interview," watch the cigar. I don't smoke and you can't see me.

I depend on you to "get" the point of the blogs, I can't write footnotes. It doesn't take long to discern I have an odd, warped, and dark sense of humor. I try to make the tone of the piece I'm writing obvious. However, on occasion you may need to read between the lines. Remember, if you think it's a little strange or different, hard to believe or unusual, It's probably a fabrication and a figment of  my imagination.

In other words, don't take it seriously, it's supposed to be fun.

Fuji apples are on sale at our local grocery store.

Apples were discovered around 328 B.C. It took over twenty one hundred years for someone to proclaim they would keep the doctor away, "eat an apple on going to bed, and you will keep the doctor from earning his bread." from Notes and Queries magazine February 1866. This claims to be the origin of the saying and it's not even the same. And, what apple are they referring to?

According to this apple expert there are sixteen popular apple varieties. I'm sorry but I can't wait around until Honeycrisp or Jonagold are in season. I'm getting older every day, I need to know what I should be eating and when. I would also welcome information about keeping the dentist away.

Dentists are probably the most important of all.

Is there a certain apple you need to eat for a general practitioner? I have been having problems with my feet, how about a Podiatrist? . Or a Proctologist, and while we are in the neighborhood, a Psychiatrist? Maybe I should switch it up a little? Like Grandma Sophie used to say, "What could it hurt?"
