I had great intentions. I was going to come home from my monthly docs appointment and get some work done on the blog. I did come home from the appointment. We had another of our "more frequent all the time" power outages this afternoon. As soon as power was restored I shut down most of the things in the house and picked up a book.
I can't remember the last time I actually did some extended reading. I'm not talking about the "turn the pages and not absorb what I see" reading like I do when waiting somewhere. I learned long ago to take a book whenever I may be in a "holding pattern." I guess now it would be a smart phone or an I-Pad, forget reading, what's on TV. Or maybe even a Kindle. Anyhow, I got home and read for several hours.
Joseph Wambaugh. I have been reading him for years, love his stuff. Yes, I had my once a month visit to the doctors office. I take some rather expensive medication and the insurance company insists I go every month for a check up and a refill. I know they don't want me to have too much at a time. If I got hit by a bus on the way home I would have a lot of wasted medicine.
Another problem of the day. My friend Harriet called a few hours ago. She just discovered a new browser, Google Chrome. She is very knowledgeable when it comes to computer things. Life, not so. She wanted me to try it and I have. For the last hour I have been trying to move my bookmarks over from IE and have not done it yet. Finally I just typed this address in the browser window and here I am. Later I will try again. I have a feeling by tomorrow I'll be back to what I know. It's easier that way.
My rice steamer just dinged, now I know time is going way too fast. Tonight is brown rice with shrimp. It's also Trash Day Thursday Eve and I have all the plastic receptacles out at the curb. The three are looking like multi colored soldiers standing tall and straight out there, impervious to the cold wind and rain.
It's just been one of those days. I will try to finish the "rats nest" story tomorrow. Hope you all are well and enjoying the day.
