The sun will come out, tomorrow.....

I'm not sure why this has taken me so long to discover, but it has. Actually, I have always known about several different options using e-mail, just never utilized them.

After all these years I finally started a new e-mail filing system. Every day or so I go through everything in my "In Box." Anything I want to save I move to an "In Box Save" folder. Mail that I need to deal with but not today I move to a "look At ASAP" folder. Now, all that's left I check off and delete giving me a nice clean empty In Box. One of these days I may actually get to the ASAP folder, the other one, I doubt it. Did I mention I have three e mail accounts?

I think we got our first computer around 1998. The only way I can remember is Windows 98 was the first (is it operations system?) what the Hell, it's my blog. I'm going to call it the O.S. So, Windows 98 was the first O.S. we had. Now, eleven years later we're on our third desk top (I don't think that's many) it has Windows XP. We also have a lap top that uses Windows Vista and the little notebook that has Windows 7 Starter.

We have files in several different folders in each computer using three different operating systems. We also have one desk drawer with one set of file folders with one file in each folder with one topic/subject in each file.

When I want to, or need to, find something the first thing I do is try and remember what computer it's on. On occasion I actually remember on the first try. Once I get the right computer I need to remember how it's stored and find that folder. You would think all pictures would be in "pictures" but not always. I have recipes in documents, I have recipes in downloads and I even have a "special" folder named scanner. Same thing for just about every other topic or subject.

When I want to, or need to, find something like income tax stuff that will be in the desk, I just look for it. When I finish looking and can't find it I call Wanda and she tells me where it is. By the way, it's usually in the first place I looked. She sees things better over the phone than I see looking.

I saw something just the other day about getting the same Windows for all three computers. Windows 7 with three "keys" was $149.00 dollars. Do I need to add dollars when I use a dollar sign? I think you all can figure out what I mean. If I ever need to write pounds it may be an issue. I guess it's a good thing the British use the kilo or that could get real confusing. Anyhow, I decided not to invest since the desk top is pretty old.

I should be taking down the kitchen cabinet doors. Also still need to paint the door into the garage and put some baseboards on.

I think bears have the right idea with the hibernation thing.....except for the butt plug.

Last week end was gorgeous here. The sun was out all day with temperatures in the low to mid 60's. Oakland or San Francisco, maybe both had close to record breaking temperatures. It was a perfect time to paint. We had the patio door open and several windows. One of the nice things about this area, once a week or so we get a break in the weather. One of the not so nice things about this area, once a week or so we get a break in the weather. These last three days have been chilly, foggy, and down right yucky. I just can't get anything started.

Tomorrow is Trash Day Thursday. If it's crappy tomorrow and I don't do anything, Wanda will be home on Friday. She'll start working on the house regardless of the weather. I'll feel guilty if I am sitting on my ass. I'm sure this kitchen will be done this week end.

I don't know if it's just me, kind of doubt it. Even after 21 years of marriage. Even after she tells me to do what I want. Even when she tells me it's OK if I don't help, I always do. I have come to the conclusion I have three possibilities. I can, just watch her work and feel guilty. I can, talk her out of working so I don't feel guilty. I can, get off my ass and do something. I don't need to tell you what the least painful, and more productive thing is, do I?

Lots of people we know have picked up Kindles and Book Nooks. Are there other things as well? I guess there are apps for I-Pads? We do have a rather large book collection here. Wanda and I also both enjoy going to book stores and actually holding the things. I do think the "electronic readers" are terrific for many different uses, would like one myself to tell the truth.

With the new TV and furniture purchase I just can't see spending the money for a reader just yet. I think I had a pretty good idea, started the other day. We have a real nice wireless scanner in the other room and all these computers. I picked out a book I have on my "to-read" list and scanned it. Then I loaded all the scanned pages on the small computer. Later, when I am at a doctors office, or we go away for a long week end and I want to read I'll be set.

I just need to remember the right computer and figure out where I filed the damn thing.

The fog finally lifted around two today. It hasn't been a total waste of a day, I did get the trash receptacles (can't say cans as they're plastic) curbside. I also made sure the dishwasher was empty. I think it was a pretty productive day.
