Snow, beautiful snow.

Some years ago a friend of mine moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. I remember an e mail I received that had a cute story about the new arrival to the area enjoying the beautiful snowfalls. As the winter season progressed their delight turned to disappointment, to frustration, to anger, and finally depression. Eventually their thoughts of snow and the holiday season ahead brought plotting's of trapping Santa and his reindeer, holding them hostage until somehow, someone, somewhere would help them get the heck out of the snow belt. This took place over several months.

It's happened to me in just under twelve hours. I feel like a lab rat trapped in a maze looking for a non existent way out, or, maybe just a lousy piece of cheese.

I woke to a beautiful white fluffy morning. I am looking out the window at what are now piles of wet, dirty , lumpy snow. The pick up truck with the front plow attached has been driving back and forth pushing all this slushy stuff into large mountains between all the driveways on this street. At 5PM I thought I'd better venture out before I was "plowed" in. Fred's car has "all wheel" drive which I am sure means all wheels turn at different speeds in different directions at different times. If I had wanted to slide to the Caribou I could have taken a sled.

It's been a pretty dismal day. I didn't make it to Aunt Lee's since the roads were bad. I didn't have an opportunity to spend any time using the local "Wiki Wiki" at the coffee shops. I didn't feel like making breakfast, lunch, or dinner. And I sure didn't feel like watching a 7-3 football game, but I did, all of that, and more.

Fred I think decided that since it was Sunday, he would take the day off. In all fairness he did work very hard yesterday. Today he got up a few times and did some work at the computer. He also did the strengthening exercises one of the therapists left but he didn't get downstairs and that is what I was shooting for today. I go to Harriet and Paul's Thursday, that's just four more days.

Tomorrow will be a busy one with two appointments scheduled, that is, if they can get around all the wet, dirty, mountains of snow all over this neighborhood.

The menu today was cheese and sausage omelet, English muffin, o.j. and milk for breakfast. for lunch the always popular egg salad on toast with chips and applesauce. Tonight I just didn't feel like cooking so we split a grilled ham and cheese with chips a banana and cherry jello with fruit.

I'm tired and it's only 7:20PM.
I hope I can figure out how to post a picture of the still beautiful morning snow.
