I know it's bad but I was on a train.
My Kindle Fire has a front facing camera which is great when using Skype but terrible for taking pictures.
Never again without a sleeper.
Wanda picked me up at the Amtrak station at 7:30 this morning. I'm not a snob but seventeen hours on a train in coach is slightly better than seventeen hours on a bus locked in the toilet.
The ride up wasn't exactly torture but I have had more enjoyable experiences walking on hot coals. I thought of attaching safety pins to my scrotum several times to take my mind off the immediate situation. The ride home was much better.
No matter the train and car rental hassle and freaking hot Portland weather I got to spend time with new granddaughter Grace and that made the trip wonderful.
I'm in awe of a new life.
As you can probably guess, I'm beat. Rebecca posted a Facebook photo of me feeding Grace and your comments and likes were overwhelming. I thank you all for the attention. No wonder W.C. Fields didn't want to work with kids. They truly steal the show.
Hope you'll check back tomorrow for Portland and back in 80 hours.
