I'm running late today and really feel like plunking myself down and watching some movies I have on the DVR. That's Digital Video Recorder for those of you that are electronically challenged. You may remember when you purchased your first Video Cassette Recorder, or VCR? You also may remember how difficult and frustrating programming it was. Just about the time you got familiar and comfortable with it along came the TV Guide (or programming) codes. These were a series of numbers to input into the recorder for the show you wanted to watch. This made things a little easier, of course, you still had to learn how to set the clock.
Now I can set up a recording on the DVR using this lap top. I can also change channels using this lap top. I simply click on one line of my home page and the recording is good to go. As for changing channels, same thing. What I don't understand is why anyone would do this. OK, maybe you are on line and your spouse is watching TV and you want to "surprise" them by switching to a different station. That aside, if you are on your computer why are you watching TV?
A few days ago I started watching "The Color Purple" on the DVR. I finished it this morning. The movie came out in 1985, wow. It won't be long until it runs on Turner Classic Movies.
If you are a regular reader of the blog, thanks. I realize you aren't sitting at home, or work, with baited breath waiting for the continuation of the trip to LA. If you are, sorry, I'll get to it tomorrow.
For now, if you haven't yet seen the pictures of our friend SockMonkey, check them out. He doesn't have fingers so typing is very difficult for him. He tried at first but couldn't even type hello, the letter h came out hkbvj. So, now he dictates everything to me or Wanda. We both have his picture album from the trip on our FB page.
