I think we made a small mistake when we put new kitchen hardware on the cabinet doors. What, I'm just now coming to this conclusion, after 4-5 years? Maybe it's not so much the door knobs but the pants I'm wearing?
Once upon a time (that's from yesterday and I knew I'd get there) we wanted to update our kitchen. We wanted to do this without spending a fortune. OK, we wanted to do this keeping the budget under $76.55. I spent some time on line and with the paint guy at Home Depot doing research. I found a primer that would cover laminate and we dove right in.
We removed and replaced all seventeen cupboard doors. We primed and painted everything else. The counters and sink we left as is. We replaced all the hardware which gets me to today. I am very tired of getting the damn knobs stuck in my pants pockets. Doing K.P. at times is hard enough. I hate these little knobs grabbing me all the time.
I have recently begun writing myself notes, lots of them. I have a note pad and pen on the fridge. A note pad and pen on the family room "catch-all" table. Lots of note pads and pens on the desk. I have note pads in drawers and note pads on counters. My problem now is remembering which note pads I wrote what in. Maybe I should cut down on the pads?
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so, picture lots of note pads.

So, as you already know, we are going to the movies tomorrow morning. I thought it would be fun to "dress up" and would certainly embarrass Nick. Can you imagine a 15 year old in line with his grandparents dressed like Hogwarts students? Wanda vetoed the idea and it's just as well, Nick is going camping.
Last night I left him a message on, what else, Face Book, about Friday. He wrote back that he was sorry about missing the movie but had the opportunity to go camping and dirt bike riding. It's OK, I understand.
When Nickolas was growing up Wanda and I tried to spend a lot of time with him. He would call and ask if we could go to a movie or shopping for something, and we went. There were times when we were tired, but we went. There were times when he would call last minute and we had other plans, but we went.
Wanda and I knew when Nick was around 15, cars and motorcycles and friends would occupy his free time. We knew that soon, although he loved us, spending time with grandparents would not be high on the priority list. We tried to take advantage of the time we had, something I should remember about many things.
It's no secret I have been uninformed most of my life. I have tried to avoid major news because, it's depressing, and it's scary. But now, I can't seem to get away from it. Maybe it's Face Book or maybe it's the computer? Maybe it's having this crap shoved in my face and down my throat day after day after day?
I am not educated enough to actually know how to separate the fact from the bullshit. I am not educated enough to understand the ramifications of this budget and spending and borrowing ceiling stuff. I am educated enough to know something is wrong. I am sick of getting hit over the head with doom every day.
*EDIT: A great example of why things never stay bad, or depressing, or down in our house very long.......If you go back and look above, on the list you will see Check OOF Blu Ray etc.
A few minutes after I posted the blog Wanda called to ask me if I had a typo and meant OFF. I checked the blog and told her I indeed made a mistake, there should be periods inserted O.O.F. because it's Order Of Foenix......the name of the movie. My wife then said, "Maybe you want to change it because Foenix is spelled with a P.....hoenix.
And yesterday I spelled Oops in the title Opps, and I'm worried about the budget?
