The "Fall Classic" begins.....

The alarm guy got everything accomplished yesterday. Now we can leave home knowing no one could tolerate that blaring horn. Yesterday he was concerned about the cats prior to his test. Casper, Steve, and Dakota were in the family room with me. When the horn sounded they all picked their heads up and looked around, as if to say, "Shut that damn thing off, please," that is if cats ever say please.

We have the home security system because we were burgled years ago. We always suspected the kid next door but that's a blog for another day. What really pissed me off was his total disregard for the cats. We came home to an open front and back door. Casper was in the back yard. She enjoyed her freedom and stayed out for a couple of days. Eventually she got hungry and came home, sort of like having a teenager.

Wanda and I have always had cats. I shudder to think of the time, money, and all out effort we have spent because of them. One of these days they'll all be gone. I'm sure when that happens we'll wish for another.

Right now, Casper and Steve are curled up together, on my chair. I have put off vacuuming the carpet in the family room. Steve, who isn't bothered by the alarm horn is afraid of the vacuum cleaner. They look so cute I don't want to disturb them. When I finish the blog I'll go sit in Wanda's chair. I am not as comfortable in it, but I'll suffer, for the cats.

Last night Wanda was playing Words With Friends and not telling me what letters she had. I was watching "Devil Bat" with Bella Lugosi. Later I flipped through the TV channels and caught the end of "Ed Wood." One of the worst movies ever made, "Plan 9 From Outer Space" was written, directed, and produced by Wood.

Speaking of bad movies, is today Elvis' birthday or death day? Several bad Presley movies are showing on TCM. Our friend that passed away not too long ago, Teresa, loved him. I laughed when her daughter Sharon told us she often had to remind her mom Elvis was dead.

I wanted to watch a little of Plan 9, on line. I started the lap top put the buds in my ears and found the movie. Before the opening credits finished Dakota decided she had to sit on the keyboard. I tried to pick her up and she bit me.

Dakota doesn't have front teeth so she actually doesn't bite, but she tries. The cat has lived with us over ten years and she still tries to bite me. So, the cat's on the keyboard twisted up in the ear bud wires trying to bite me all while I'm trying to watch a movie. I removed her and five minutes later she tried it again. The third time I let her sit on the damn thing and I went to sleep.

And Jill eats toilet paper.

One of these days they'll all be gone. I'm sure when that happens we'll wish for another.

The post office is raising stamp prices after the first of the year. Just a few months ago I read that they would be closing offices and "operating more efficiently." Raising prices to increase income? Stamps will cost more, fewer people will use them, and revenue will drop. The government, would you expect otherwise?

Wanda has been paying bills on line for years. The cost you ask? There is no cost.

Tonight is the first game of the "Fall Classic" otherwise known as the baseball "World Series." The two teams I didn't pull for are playing, Texas and St. Louis. Tomorrow someone will be talking or writing about the low TV ratings because, "no one cares about these two teams" except people in Texas, Missouri, and a few in Kansas.

And one in California who will be watching the games, and keeping the statistics to himself.
