Enough.........

That's it......just can't take it any longer.

I had a great entry planned for today and it's after noon now. What this means is I'm grouchy, hungry, sneezey, and dopey, why not? It also means this is going to be short and to the point. Ack ack ach ouch ouch ouch. That's the sound of me pulling my hair in frustration. I don't know why I wrote that as I'm not now, nor have ever been, in frustration. I think frustration is somewhere along the northern boarder of the Ukrain.

Back to reality. Yesterday Wanda printed out a few pages of the Safeway "Just For You" promotion. Hey, if you shop at the store and haven't looked into this you should. But, this is not why I asked you here today. An hour later, Wanda pushed the "print" icon again. The same printer, wireless, the same lap top, also wireless, and nothing happened. She tried it again and nothing happened. Eventually she gave up and I had a look at it, Mr. Fix-it.

The road to printer happiness is paved with littered computers. I sat down in front of the lap top and did what is called "Troubleshooting." It seemed like every trouble I shot, came back to life with a friend. Everything that didn't work led to two other things to try. At the rate I was going I could see a new printer in our future. Maybe it is cheaper to buy a new one when your ink runs dry? Maybe it's easier on your psyche to buy a new one when you can't fix the one you have?

I spent between two and three hours trying to find and fix the problem. The printer "talked" to the little Acer but wouldn't talk to the lap top. Eventually, after trying everything I could think of I did the smart thing and gave up. I grabbed a coffee, turned on the football game and watched television for the rest of the day. But every few minutes I could feel my eyes sliding over to stare at the lap top and printer. Know this you evil machines, tomorrow I'm going to get you!

Monday morning I overslept again, 7:30 AM is late for me, so I hit the floor running. I did thirty minutes of aerobics, made some coffee and with a smirk on my face, sat down at the computer. Four hours later: IT WORKS. I'm not sure what I did, something about adding a new port? I finally got so frustrated I started clicking and shifting and adding and deleting. Now that the lap top was talking to the printer I held my breath and tried the Acer. Knowing how things happen, I figured it wouldn't work today, but it did.

Now all the computers in the house are talking to the modems, and routers, and printers, and it's after noon.

Saturday, I opened my e mail and I had a message from (someone) about (something) I wrote (one day). When I read it the first time, I admit, I was a little (expletive) but after a second reading I realized (someone) had a valid point. I decided to rewrite the entry. I get an e mail copy of the blog entries so I found it, opened my Word program and did a copy and paste. I was going to re post the edited blog today, but I can't.

See, I was on the little Acer when I opened that Word program. I guess I could start that computer and do a copy and paste onto an e mail to myself. I could open the mail on this lap top and do another copy and paste onto the blog. Or, I could open the Acer and now that the printer works, print out a page. I could scan the page sending the info ......forget it. Tomorrow morning I'll figure it out, just like I did today.
