11-8-2010 I don't drop my pills in the toilet

Hi all,

The vampires out did them selves last night. I was stumbling to the bathroom (no, I didn't drop anything in the toilet this morning) around 6AM and Momma Vampire and Baby Vampire were going to bed. We didn't stop to talk. Since we went back to regular time yesterday the rising sun was almost at the horizon, I didn't want them turning to dust on my account. Now I know why I can't find any garlic in the house.

I got to the hospital at eight this morning, or was it nine? Why I do this every year I just don't know. For the next two weeks I'll look at the clock and say, "it's now nine o'clock but it's really ten," etc. etc. Oh, and I just heard this. If you don't want to look old, take off your watch. The next generation all have cell phones with clocks, they don't need watches. I must reference one of Fred's favorite movies here. "We don't need no stinkin' watches."

We had breakfast, a large glob of mushy yellow stuff, scrambled eggs? milk, coffee, and coffee cake. He actually ate a lot of the glob, drank two milks and had some of the coffee cake. They left a menu today so he can fill out the thing and order what he likes.

The move to a new room should happen today. Earlier today they removed the feeding tube. Once on the new floor he will not need the heart monitor, blood pressure cuff, or the thing on his finger that measures the oxygen level in his blood. The only thing he will still have is his iv line for some of his medications. I know he will feel much better without all that stuff.

I'll send you all the new room number and phone just as soon as we get there.
love to you all, Chuck

Today's tube/wire count: Tubes and/or wires out = 1 in = 0
Total out = 6

The nurse was just in with the new room number. 5617. So the new phone number 1-248-898-5617.
Should be within the hour.
