10-31-2010 Let's play charades

I was wrong......what a shock that is. Right after sending out the last e mail I stopped up to check on Fred. I fully expected to walk in and find him sound asleep, then I was going to take off.

Fred was awake and got pretty agitated when he saw me. He has the breathing tube in and was signaling me to either take it out, or, cut his throat, I'm not sure which. He was making a scissors motion with his first and middle finger. We were able to play charades and eliminate a bunch of things he didn't want but never actually figured out what it was he did, want. I think I'm correct in guessing it's get this damn thing out of my mouth. They are currently running a test to see what kind of respiration's he has on his own and may get it out in the next hour or so, depending.

I want to stay until they do remove it and am hiding in the corner of his room. He seems to be semi OK until he spots me.

I'll stay until the tube is D.C'd or before it starts getting dark. I don't want to drive with all the little goblins out tonight.
Happy Halloween, Chuck

The nurse was just in, his first blood gases looked good. She'll test again, now and if it's still good the tube should go.
