Tuesday Morning (not the store)

Hello friends, family, and assorted hanger-ons,

It's another beautiful day here in the mid west. It's about 55 degrees and raining, no, actually misting.

Wanda, it's not just me. This morning I was walking through the hospital when I heard, "did you say, another shot of caffine?" and the response was, "no, I said, hello Kathleen."

I spent last night at Fred's place. He only called me a couple of times to let me know where I could find pillows and towels, things like that. He said I could sleep in his bed, which was just a little to creepy for me so I slept on it. I actually got a decent nights sleep and woke just before six. I was able to determine a couple of things last night. He needs at least one new TV. I ask you, who still watches low-def TV on an old square tube set? He also needs some premium channels and a sports package upgrade. I'm already stressed over the Thursday Night Football game on the NFL Network. Maybe I can find a decent sports bar around here.I wonder if he would notice a nice 47" Samsung LED LCD TV? I do have his credit card.

I wrote it was misting this morning and it still is. Lucky for me his car has wipers that somehow know when it is raining. The windshield is magically cleared every minute or so. Not having to think about this makes it easier for me to drive and drink coffee at the same time. Oh, Fred also needs a new coffee pot. Along the same lines as the TV, who uses a coffe pot that has a chrome carafe? First thing in the morning and I need to wait until the damn thing is full before I take it off the hot plate. A glass carafe you can see through, not this one.

Did I mention Fred is spending another day in the Beaumont Torture Chamber? All morning we heard "I don't know" when we asked if he was going home. Finally at 11:30 we got the word, tomorrow. All of his numbers look good but they want to keep him hydrated for one more day. Also, when he gets  for physical therapy later today they can make sure the blood pressure issue has been resolved. So, for now, I'll go back to the house and get some much needed cleaning done.
I was looking at the literature the dietitian left him yesterday. It's so comforting to know I will be able to take care of his dietary needs when he gets home. A great example of the info; suggested foods are fish and eggs and while we are at it, not recommended foods are (care to guess?) fish and eggs. I guess you can eat what you want until you discover you can't eat it and then you should stop eating it. I like this system, now I can buy, and fix, anything.

I left the hospital about an hour ago and brought some of his things home, it will be hard enough tomorrow. I stopped at the local hospital supply place looking at grab rails and a new spray thing for his shower. At first I was going to install them but the lady asked how far apart my studs were. Studs? I now have the number of a couple of "they do it" places, I'll call them later.

For now, I'm finishing up my non fat vanilla grande latte and will head back to his place soon.
Hope you all are well, love Chuck
