Please excuse any and all typos. I am working on a new Acer 10" notebook. My fingers are too big for these keys and my eyes are too weak to see the print. Aside for that I love this thing.
The flights in on Saturday were uneventful with a small exception. We were delayed in Denver for a couple hours due to "servicing the aircraft." Later I watched the co-pilot walking around checking out the landing gear and the wings. I almost went right to Avis but stuck with the plane ride. Wanda and I were up at 3 that morning to make an early flight out of Oakland. Harriet and Paul picked me up at 5 or so that evening.
Did you know you can actually drive a car down until the message thingy reads "4 miles of fuel until empty?" I didn't know that. I am glad we found a close gas station. When stopped Harriet reached over for her purse and knocked a full cup of coffee all over the car seat I was sitting in.Lucky I was wearing jeans since they soaked up all that cold coffee. After getting lost twice on the way home (they told me it was the "scenic" route), and stopping for dinner on the way, I finally got in about 8PM. It was a very long day.
It was very nice seeing all the visiting family and Aunt Lee again.. I did get to the hospital yesterday morning, along with the visitors. I got back there this morning. Fred is due to be discharged tomorrow. I went to his therapy class today and am now in Rochester waiting to go shopping and stock his fridge. I wonder, can I get a discount on an assortment of condiments? For the next three weeks I will need to get very creative since he has a two pots and two pans, anyone for pasta?
I am very pleased with his progress. He dressed himself this morning. Got into and out of a tub there. I also watched him climb up and down stairs. His endurance is down but that's to be expected. .Fred will have several home visits with various nurses over the next few weeks. I am hoping to transition him to out patient care by the time I leave. The big issue now is WILL he do it, not CAN he do it.
Last night I had a three minute phone message from him telling me about various things he wanted me to pick up at the grocery store. Just in case you are interested, at the local Kroger store, the Hershey Chocolate syrup is kept on isle six.
more when I can, love to you all, Chuck
